Needles: U.S. size 10(6.0 mm) 29-inch circular needles.

Cast on 32 stitches

Beginning and Ending Edging:
Beginning Edging: Knit 6 rows.
Ending edging, knit rows 1-5, then bind off knitwise.

Body of Scarf:
Row 1 (RS): K1, *K2tog, yo, k2tog, yo, k2; rep from * until 1 stitch left, K1.
Row 2: P32.
Row 3: K2, *k2tog, yo, k2, k2tog, yo; rep from * to last 6 sts, k2tog, yo, k4.
Row 4: P32.
Row 5: K1,*K2tog, yo, k2, k2tog, yo; rep from * until 1 stitch left, K1.
Row 6: P32.
Row 7: K2, *k2, k2tog, yo, k2tog, yo; rep from * to last 6 sts, k2, k2tog, yo, k2.
Row 8: P32.
Row 9: K1, *K2, k2tog, yo, k2tog, yo; rep from * until 1 stitch left, K1.

Row 2: P2, k1, p2.

Row 4: P2, k1, p1, k1, p2.
Row 5: k1, kfb, knit until 3 stitches left on row, kfb, k2.
Row 6: P2, *(k1, p1) repeat from * until 3 stitches left on needle, k1, p2.

Repeat rows 5 and 6 until scarf measures 18 inches across the top. (Remember, scarf will stretch when tied around the head.P

Row 3: Slip 1 stitch, knit until 1 stitch remain. Turn work.

Materials: 3 skeins of knitting worsted, size US10(6.0 mm) 36-inch circular needle.

Cast on 3 stitches.
Row 1: kfb, k1, kfb (5)
Row 2: P2, k1, p2
Row 3: k1 k2fb, k2 (7)
Row 4: P2, k1, p1, k1, p2
Row 5: k1, kfb, knit until 3 stitches left on row, kfb, k2
Row 6: P2, *(k1, p1) repeat from * until 3 stitches left on needle, k1, p2.

Repeat rows 5 and 6 until shawl has reached the desired dimensions.

Finishing: Knit a row, purl a row, Knit a row,
Bind off in this manner: *P2tog, slip stitch just worked back onto left needle, p2tog, repeat from * to end of the row.

Note:  The 2-stitch stockinette edging on either side , as well as the top border of stockinette are going to curl/roll because unblocked stockinette will do that.  This is intentional, and creates a nice rolled edge.
