Size 11/8.0 mm knitting needles,
Large cable needle
Yarn:
3 skeins of Lion Brand Hometown USA, 5 oz/142 g, 81 yd/74 m color: Honolulu Pink

Cast on:
28 stitches

Beginning Scarf Border:
Row 1: K7, P2, K4, P2, K4, P2, K7
Row 2: K3, P4, K2, P4, K2, P4, K2, P4, K3
Rows 3-7, Repeat rows 1 and 2 two times.
Row 8: K7, P2, K4, P2, K4, P2, K7

Row 1: K3, P4, K2, P4, K2, P4, K2, P4, K3
Row 2: K3, C2F, P2, C2F P2, C2F, P2, C2F, K3
Row 3: K3, P4, K2, P4, K2, P4, K2, P4, K3
Row 4: K7, P2, K4, P2, K4, P2, K7

Repeat rows 1-4 of Scarf Body pattern until Scarf measures approximately 60 inches, or is as long as you want it. (Note: Yarn amount given is for a scarf 60 inches long. If you want your scarf to be longer than that, you will need additional yarn.)

Ending Scarf Border:
Row 1: K3, P4, K2, P4, K2, P4, K2, P4, K3
Row 2: K7, P2, K4, P2, K4, P2, K7
Row 3: K3, P4, K2, P4, K2, P4, K2, P4, K3
Rows 4-8, Repeat rows 2 and 3 two times.
Bind off.

Variation: Narrower Scarf (Three Cables Wide).

Row 3: K3, P4, K2, P4, K2, P4, K3
Row 4: K7, P2, K4, P2, K7
Repeat rows 1-4 until Scarf measures approximately 60 inches, or is as long as you want it.
